PAGR’s NEW GUEST POLICY FOR MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS

As a result of the increased popularity of PAGR’s Membership Meeting luncheons held every other month at the Firehouse restaurant, we continue to be approached by members who wish to invite either one or several guests to attend the luncheons in order to hear the speakers and interact with our membership. While we’re happy for the guests’ interest, there have been months where our own members who have forgotten to RSVP on time come to the luncheon only to be told that we cannot accommodate them.

The Board has discussed a number of options regarding guests attending our membership meetings. We determined that since the luncheons are membership meetings, we must first accommodate our membership. To borrow a tag line from a successful advertising campaign..."Membership has its’ privileges."

To that end, if a member has RSVP’d and cannot attend at the last minute, the member may choose to substitute another individual from their firm/company/association to attend even if that individual is not a member. The charge for attending will be the same as if the member was attending. However, if a member wishes to bring a guest in addition to attending himself/herself, the member will be charged the normal rate of $5 and the guest charge will be $20.

PAGR will continue to charge members who RSVP and do not attend $10. Also, we will charge a member $20 for a guest, if a member RSVPs for a guest and does not bring the guest to the luncheon.

Christine, our Executive Director, will continue to take member/guest names on a list – first come, first serve basis so that members will be accommodated first and if there is additional space, guests will be included. As always, we encourage all those who are interested in participating in PAGR events to become members. If you wish to discuss this or any other issue with me, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
